Influence of music videos
When looking at music videos in our day and age how audiences view and what they infer from them can vary. Many videos lead to 'trends' or 'challenges' which are then taken upon them to do their self. A popular music video showing this is Anna Kendrick's - Cups which was a song bought out that got featured in pitch perfect. After the official release on YouTube it went through a 'craze faze' on social media where people at all ages were uploading videos of themselves trying to master the 'cup song'.
Many have been shared across social media sites most popular being Facebook where their friends and family could see and engage with the activity through sharing the video or trying it them self.
This has shown the influence that the song had worldwide where such a basic sound made from using a plastic cup and your hands can be turned into a popular song. It is different from the other typical music videos released that contain several backing sounds and editing where as that particular song anybody could do for them self.

Some people have even been influenced to go on and remake versions of songs but by using the 'cup' as there instrumental sound. As shown in the video of 3 girls using it with 'All about the bass' Megan Trainor's songs.
More recently...
More recently around the beginning of September 2016 a new advert was released for Heinz baked beans where a bunch of work men and families all participated in the simple homemade song tune using cans which has lead to a new trend following #Can song rather than 2012's #Cup song. Already there has been news articles stating how Heinz where hoping to recreate the famous a cappela cup song, as well as multiple you tube tutorials and videos people have been uploaded already stealing peoples personal interest to get involved with the challenge.

I have taken these snapshots off a frequent YouTube broadcaster known as 'Kiptupp' where he is seen doing a parody of the 2016 can song withing 1 month of is release.
These 3 images show a snipet of the follow along instructions on how to do the can song that was officially released by Heinz them self, and beside them is the YouTuber imitating these action by physically throwing the can cross a lawn supposedly being 'humerus'.
